TW Steel Welcomes Second Hong Kong Brand Boutique

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (March 6, 2014) – TW Steel celebrated the opening of its second stand-alone brand boutique in Hong Kong, Thursday 6th March, with the company ‘Big in Oversized Watches’ launching its new store at Grand Century Place.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open the global lifestyle brand’s second major footprint in the world’s number one watch market was attended by TW Steel co-owner and Chief Executive Officer, Jordy Cobelens, along with special guests including Mr. Wilfred Mohr – The Consulate General of The Netherlands in Hong Kong and renowned architect Mr. Steve Leung, who designed the boutique at Grand Century Place.
Following the afternoon’s official duties and having welcomed the Hong Kong media to the brand’s second store, the first – located at Harbour City Mall launched in December 2012, ‘The Watch in Steel’ moved the celebrations on to an exclusive VIP event.
Celebrating TW Steel’s Dutch roots, an evening gala in the grounds of the official residency of The Consulate General of The Netherlands in Hong Kong, spectacularly located on the Peak, proved to be a fitting venue. Guests on the evening included VIP customers and celebrities, along with Hong Kong media, with attendees given the honour of an exclusive preview showing off several of the brand’s new 2014 executions.
“I’m thrilled with the reception we’ve received to the news of our second store at Grand Century Place opening,” enthused Jordy Cobelens, CEO of TW Steel. “Hong Kong is a key market for any watch brand and we’re certainly no different. Establishing our footprint here is critical and to follow up the success of our Harbour City brand boutique with our second standalone store demonstrates our commitment and our investment in the retail platform here.
“As a global brand, we’re infinitely proud of our Dutch DNA so we thought it would be fun to celebrate that today in Hong Kong. I’d like to extend my personal thanks to Mr. Wilfred Mohr for attending our launch at Grand Century Place and allowing us the use of his official residency to welcome our guests this evening. I’d also like to thank Mr. Steve Leung for his exceptional attention to detail in designing our latest store. As one of Hong Kong’s leading international architects, it’s simply been a pleasure to have our brands collaborate together. TW Steel is in good shape in Hong Kong, both with our own boutique stores and our existing retail partners. These are exciting times for our brand!”
